Tweak them, revise them, update them and refine them, but you should never give up on your dreams. Why? Because they are your dreams. Yours.
Tweak
You may have to tweak them, in much the way you’d tweak that piece of art or edit words written, but never give up on your dreams. “Field adjustments” are commonplace and occur naturally and necessarily, for it is ever in the journey that the way becomes more clear.
“It is in the journey that the way becomes more clear.”

Adjust
The movie The Adjustment Bureau, does a great job of depicting how our future can change and be rerouted, depending on the changes in our present. The movie provides memorable depictions of this concept, and I often bring those scenes to mind when thinking about choices and decisions in the present.
If you haven’t yet seen The Adjustment Bureau with Matt Damon, we really enjoyed it. You can see glimpses of the concept and the map of the heroes life plan in the trailer.
The secret about fate is that it’s mostly in our hands. Fate is flexible and malleable based on choices and decisions in the present.

Reroute
Another visual of this concepts is your GPS. We’ve probably all experienced our phone or car GPS rerouting our destination when we take a different turn, for whatever reason.
That GPS is determined to get us to where we want to go and will keep rerouting us until we arrive, unless we turn it off.
We can do the same thing with our goals, be it for today, for this quarter, this year or for life. Head in the direction you wish to go, keep your sights set and adjust as needed.
But never, ever give up on your dreams. Tweak? yes. Adjust? Inevitably. Give up? Never!
Your goals are your GPS, wired to reroute you to your destination, no matter what detours and roadblocks hinder your way.
For every change in what is, we can re-route our internal GPS to the next best “what will be”.

Edit, Don’t Delete
Even if the final version of your goals end up edited and revised, modified or improved — and undoubtedly it will — they’re still your dreams and only you can make it true for you. As a child my dream was to sing… but it’s clearly not in my genetics for this life. So I’ve tweaked that dream such that my “why” is intact, but through a different “what” and “how”.
If you’re struggling to achieve your goals, you’re in good company. Know that you’re not alone; that many people toil as you do, working hard for a better life. Connect with those who reinforce your dreams… with those who believe in you and your ability to achieve, even when you doubt yourself.
Associations matter. Connect and associate with those who are aspiring to better themselves. Positive associations mirror, reflect and amplify each other. Choose yours carefully.
Never give up on your dreams because if you can dream them, chances are you can do them, or most of them, one at a time.
Your dreams belong to you… and only you can make them come true.

How to Make Your Dreams Come True
This isn’t about fantasy. We’re talking about your dreams as goals and visions for your life.
If anyone in the world has done such a thing before… or anything like it, then so too can you… and then some. Because many of the heroes we follow—two of which we’ll share in a bit—have created a future more grand than anyone could have dreamed possible.
This is about the dreams of your most magnificent life. Of the kind of life you’ve daydreamed about, wished for and imagined. No matter how far along you get in your aspirations for toward that, every step along the way brings you to new levels of wonderment, empowerment and joy. And isn’t that ultimately, the goal…?
Success comes from struggle and longevity of effort. If you’re in a slump and feeling like throwing in the towel, don’t.
Step back and take a break. Seek out that which uplifts and inspires you to help you change your state. Seek out a mentor or coach, or aspirational friends and family to give you a hand out of being stuck.
“Don’t seek commiseration, for you will find it and be limited by it. Seek inspiration and you will find it and be elevated by it.”
~LeAura Alderson, writer, editor, creator – iCreateDaily.com ®
Seek Elevation and Inspiration Through Movement
Rest, refresh, take a vigorous walk, run, bike, swim, dance, sing… movement is a powerful antidote to feeling stuck and powerless. Engage in people, places and things that inspire you.
Watch a comedy or do something fun. After you’re rested and refreshed, take another look at your dreams. Do the next thing that will move you closer to them. Then repeat.
Take one step closer to your dreams… then take another. Daily.
“The dreamer weaves the strands of days together into the tapestry of life.
On the threads of love wrought forth, dreams become real.”

Don’t Quit
PLEASE DON’T QUIT.
Pivot maybe.
Sashay, maybe.
But quit?
No!!!
Never quit!
Struggles suck, but they make us stronger. That’s when it’s time for some cognitive restructuring of perceptions.
Whatever your challenge… or struggle… whatever difficulty before you, don’t give up on yourself. Don’t give up on others. Even when things seem hopeless, if there’s anything we’ve ever learned from every hero’s journey in every movie, it is to never give up.
To keep going through is the way to the other side, from where you are to where you want to go.
The Ocean and the Stick
A Short — True Story
By Bruce Kasanoff, ghostwriter for entrepreneurs, author
Walking through the fog last night, I found this stick on the beach. It was about five feet long, and I threw it back into the ocean, expecting the ocean to push it back to me like a dog playing with a ball.
But the stick steadily drifted out further and further, going right through wave after wave, and moving towards the open ocean. Eventually, I lost interest.
About five minutes later, I looked to my left and noticed the stick was back on the beach, where you see it here.
When we lack patience, we make misjudgments. Just because a process is taking longer than we expected doesn’t mean we are on the wrong track.
Never give up on your dreams.
A Powerful Motivational Speech
Even if you’ve seen this before, it’s worthy of another.
Change Negatives to Positives – Reframe
FROM: “I’m struggling.” TO: “I’m succeeding!“
FROM: “It’s too hard.” TO: “I’m getting better and stronger“?
For every negative, there’s an opposite positive that can become the focus. Reframing is the powerful cognitive restructuring of state and fate.
“Most people give up way, way too soon. Don’t be most people.”

Expect Great Things
We all admire olympic athletes. And we all know they got to where they are only because they struggled through the hard stuff, over and over, day in and day out, for years.
We admire successful athletes because of their struggle. We know they did not get to where they are on the sheer luck of genetic birthright. In fact, most who succeed, do so only because of what they bring to the game and the struggle that birthed their greatness, far more than what they were genetically gifted at birth.
We all feel like giving up now and then. It takes a powerful mind and will to create something new in your life… something more. It takes the kind of effort that most people just aren’t willing to do.
But… you’re not most people.
Here’s inspiring follow your dreams quotes.
“You must expect great things of yourself before you can do them.”
~Michael Jordan, former pro-basketball player, entrepreneur, b.2/17/1963
Reinventing You
In a recent episode of an iCreateDaily Coffee Break podcast we talk about how you can reinvent yourself and your life from this moment forward. You’re the only one who can.
What has come before need not define what comes ahead, if you do not wish it to.
All it takes from you is the decision to push through the hard stuff that stands between you and your goals… between you and where you want to be and who you want to be. And… to never give up on your dreams! That’s our chorus here. ?
For a fantastic interview that illustrates the power of perseverance and creating the life you want to live, give yourself the gift of watching the interview that follows.
This Impact Theory features two of our online mentors. Both of these men started in the unlikeliest of circumstances for becoming millionaire/billionaires. And yet both have done so, each in their own way, each through their own ‘hero’s journey’ of effort through struggle, and of never giving up.
Never give up on your dreams. You will arrive in your future, either way, but your life will be all the richer for having persevered. Better richer for the experience of the effort than bitter with regret for never having tried.
You do not want to arrive in your future, never having tried your best… no matter what.
