A winning mindset doesn’t give in to tired. The winner doesn’t obey his body. He listens, but then commands his body to obey him, because he knows that it can. He is the master, and mind over matter is real.
Winners apply a winning mindset to life.
Audio Article – Winners Mindset:
To win the game of life requires that we stay in the game, push through tired and pick up speed.
If that sounds hard and tiring, well sure, it can be. However, it also gets easier. The more you do, the more you’re able to do because you grow stronger from every effort. The stronger you are, the more capable.
Success is just hard work coming to fruition.
“A winning mindset pulls from the reservoir of power called determination to change state and fate.”

On iCreateDaily, we focus on the power of mindset, positivity and gratitude because it makes all the difference. It bears repeating to the 10th power… over and again.
Never underestimate the importance of the power of mind to make all the difference.

“Turning pro is a mindset.”
~Steven Pressfield, author, b.9/1943
Keep it Simple
Don’t make your journey difficult or complicated. Don’t create elaborate plans that overwhelm you before you start. And don’t waste time on a business plan that will be filed and never read again.
Keep it simple. Like you, your plan will evolve as you go. Just set the course that is most apparent in the direction of your dreams. Head in that direction daily, and the rest will sort itself out along the way.
The best way to do this is through setting daily goals, then doing them. Be the person who keeps your promises to yourself and others.
“It’s in the journey that the way becomes more clear.”
~LeAura Alderson, writer, creator iCreateDaily.com®
Don’t Overthink It
Planning is important, but don’t get so caught up in that stage and trying to plan out every detail of the journey that you get overwhelmed before even getting started. Overthinking and overplanning stalls progress.
“Analysis paralysis” is real. The perfect plan will always need to be altered as you go, so don’t waste time trying to create that which doesn’t exist.
The day is the way to create the life you want to live.
The years… the quarters… the weeks… the months, are all comprised of days, one day at a time. So plan your quarter, then divide it into simpler weekly and daily goals, then tweak it every day.
“Start simply, so that you may simply start.”
~LeAura Alderson, iCreateDaily.com®
7 Simple Steps to Achieve Your Goals
There is strength, power and resolve in commitment, so that’s the first step.
- Commit to the journey.
- Focus on the positives with gratitude.
- Set your course in the direction you want to go.
- Make a list of the tasks to be done to arrive at your destination.
- Identify the most important next step from that list.
- Do that step.

The Race is with Yourself
There’s plenty of time to assess and tweak as you go. And while the theme for this article uses the term “race”, remember, the race is with yourself. You’re not in competition with your friends, your associates, your mentors and those who seem to be so far ahead of you.
This is a marathon more than a sprint, and to run a marathon means to get out and run daily. It is in the daily doing that you get better, stronger and more capable.
Your progress is as measured against where you were and where you would’ve been. If you’re not where you want to be, challenge yourself daily to show up and do the work that matters to you.
“A marathon is really a daily journey of developing a winning mindset.“
~LeAura Alderson, writer, editor, creator iCreateDaily.com®
Winners Do, Whiners Don’t
All you have to do to win your race is to achieve more today than yesterday (overall). More this month than the last; more this year than last. AND…most importantly, the “more” doesn’t have to be about doing more tasks. In fact, best if it’s not that.
It’s not about cramming more things into each day, though that may also become increasingly possible. Rather, it’s as much about honing in on more of the essential things while increasing your capacity for creating more.
Far better to do more with less than to do less with more.
~LeAura Alderson, writer, editor, creator iCreateDaily.com®
No Place for Excuses
A winning attitude doesn’t falter when tired… doesn’t make excuses… doesn’t look for reasons not to do. A pro pushes through tired and finds every way to get it done, AND, allows time for rest and recovery… for R and R.
“Anyone can put off until tomorrow what should be done today. Anyone but winners.“
~LeAura Alderson, writer, editor, creator iCreateDaily.com®
Set the Pace… it’s Your Race
This isn’t black and white. Everyone has a different threshold, and runs their own marathon at their own pace. In a marathon, runners stream into the finish line all day long. Finishing… pushing to the finish and even pushing harder when they see that finish line… that goal, is the hallmark of winners.
“Believe that everything is a possibility, and then ask what you need to do to make it a reality.”
~Lauren McGoodwin, Founder of Career Contessa, author
Capable of More than You Know
This is your marathon, your journey, your life. The only one you’re running against is yourself and the limitations you’ve set. The temptation when tired is to say and think, “I’m tired”, and to let “Tired” dictate what comes next.
We’re not saying don’t rest if you need to.
We are saying don’t assume that feeling tired or helpless or hopeless or ‘less than’, can’t be changed. It can. Absolutely, it can. What we’re saying is that you’re certain to be more capable than you know, and the only way to stretch boundaries is to push against them. The only way to build muscle is to push it. It’s just physics.
The winner of the race never slows down before the finish line. She speeds up and gives it all she’s got.

When You’re Ready to Give Up
Ironically, while editing this article, I was tired. I didn’t sleep well at all the night before, so hovering in the background was real tiredness, but also the thought that I would be, should be and was, tired.
I was playing the “I’m so tired”, tape.
When it came time for our usual exercise break to bike our neighborhood hills after walking the dogs, I told my daughter that I didn’t really feel like it… that I was tired. The tiredness was real… it was legit, and… it was an excuse. Okay, I was tired. Sooooo?!?
When the going gets tough, the average person gives up. The champion… the pro… the one determined to succeed, takes action.
Successful people don’t give up. That’s why they succeed.
~LeAura Alderson, writer, editor, creator iCreateDaily.com®
The Other Side of Tired
However, my daughter—very wisely—said, “You’ll feel better afterwards.” And of course she was right. I’ve never pushed through tired to exercise without being glad I that I did. It’s never easy, but it’s always worth it.
Tired gets pushed to the side when you don’t give in to it. Especially when you replace tired with vigorous physical activity. It’s paradoxical but so true, and we’ve seen and experienced it literally thousands of times in our family over the years.
Tired gets pushed to the side when you don’t give in to it.
“Energy lives on the other side of tired. Victory lives over the hill from hard.”

Adopt a Winning Mindset as Your Own
What makes a painter, is to paint. What makes a writer, is to write. Daily, regularly, with commitment, persistence and goals. What makes a winner, is a winning mindset fortified by winning habits and relentless focus on goals.
Winners never give up and never give in. A winning mindset is as present and predictable as the sunrise, waiting for you, ready to illuminate your day and show you the way.
A winner is in it for the long haul. So make sure that you’re doing work you love, (or love the work you do), and aiming for where you want to go, then settle in for the wild ride to the horizon of your dreams.
It will be worth it for who you become by it as much—or more—as for what you achieve.
“A winning mindset is as present and predictable as the sunrise. It shows up daily.”

Young in the Game
We toddle at any new thing we try. And like the toddler, we don’t fear learning to walk, we just keep trying until we get it.
When we’re new at anything, we are as a child in that thing, and as such we can forget to apply the seasoned wisdom of maturity—of patience—to that new thing… those new lessons.
We forget to be kind and patient with ourselves as we would be with the child who is learning. And… to keep on going and trying.
We’re in a hurry to get where we want to go… to be there already… to have our vision and our dreams NOW. Imagine the toddler running so fast that their body gets ahead of their feet. They stumble, fall and maybe they cry, but usually they just determinedly get up and get going again.
We can too.
Are We There Yet?
On the topic of child metaphors, anyone who’s ever been on an extended trip with kids, knows the childhood trip mantra:
“Are we there yet?”
The other one is, “How much longer?”
Creators new to the idea of creating the life they want to live often feel that way about the challenges of their new venture. Impatient. Hopeless. Futile. Impossible. Too much to do. It’s taking way too long.
It can seem that there is a mountain between us and our goals. But there’s more than one way to the other side of the mountain, and you will get there if you keep on going with sights set on your daily goals based on your end destination.
Creativity is a wonderful invisible force that is to teach us about our capacity to manifest. Not just a work of art, but a life. Ours.
One step at a time… one day at a time… one goal at a time, the day is the way to create the life you want to live.
And Remember:
When the going gets tough, the tough get going! Be your own champion, adopt a winning mindset today… Now. And then again tomorrow.
The day is the only way. Today is that day.
This moment.
Make it count.
“I win or I learn, but I never lose.”

Lindsey Stirling… Pushes Through Tired and Through Fear
We love the musician, dancer, entrepreneur Lindsey Stirling. She is an example of a winning mindset and pushing through all kinds of adversity to persevere in her art and dreams. You’ll appreciate her six minute share of one such “behind the scenes” struggle in the second video.
The first video is the music video performance. The second one is the behind the scenes, struggle story. We think you’ll enjoy the both.
Between Twilight – Lindsey Stirling video performance
This is a beautifully enchanting music video performance. Watch this, then the next one below, which is the “behind the scenes” story where we get to hear, not only Lindsey’s personal challenges, but a vignette of all the tremendous work that goes into that goes into just one exceptional 4:36 minute production.
Between Twilight – Lindsey Stirling video performance – The Behind the Scenes Story
One of Lindsey’s endearing qualities is her personable authenticity. She has fears, doubt, struggles like anyone else, but she’s successful because of her determination, perseverance, and the positive attitude of a winning mindset.
