Visioning tools and goals mapping are just tools of the trade for manifesting your dreams.
Visioning sets your internal GPS to where you want to go, and helps your brain map the way there. You would never set out on a journey cross-country without mapping your journey first, right? It’s the same for our goals. Visioning is the first step to bringing your dreams to life.
We go to the store with a shopping list. We build a home with a blueprint. And we take a trip with a plan and a map or GPS.
Decide your next destination and plot your course. Then vision it daily. Visioning coupled with setting, working and tracking your goals is the very best way to achieve them.

When to Vision?
When you know your destination, you can set your course. What you cannot know in advance is all that you will encounter along the way. That’s why the process of daily assessment is essential.
It’s like driving to your destination. Even on a long straight road, the driver needs to keep a hand on the wheel to provide slight tweaks to stay on the road. So it is with the journey to our goals.
Visioning is to mentally and emotionally travel the road to your dreams. Then… you get behind the wheel of your day and go!
Daily visioning constructs the vision of your future into your neural pathways and helps bring your dreams to life.

Visioning, Clarifying and Finding Your Way
If you find yourself frustrated at needing to change lanes, or even change directions in this journey, don’t fret. That’s normal. Very normal.
As you embark in the direction of your dreams, the way becomes more clear and your dreams become more real.
When the fog of uncertainty clouds your way and slows you down, it’s only temporary. You will soon notice that this very process is helping you to find your way.
By discovering what not to focus on, and you’re more able to discern what is more relevant for you at this point in time. It’s like the rumble strip bumps on the roadside that jolt you awake if you start to drift. They help you find the road by signaling you where not to go.
When you can’t see where you’re going, steer by where you don’t want to be.

Goals Mapping
Can you see a vision of your goal achieved? To visualize yourself having arrived at your next goal is a powerful and proven tool toward making dreams come true.
Visioning is the first step toward achieving your dreams. Visioning followed by daily doing is the roadmap to success.
For Identifying and Setting Goals
Here’s a summary of some cool tools to help you plan, set and accomplish your goals. We elaborate on some of these further below.
- The iCreateDaily 90 Day Goals Journal (free PDF download) Set and track your goals
- Law of Attraction Journal – for dream planning with stickers
- iArtDaily 30 Day Intuitive Art Journals – Draw and/or write about your dreams and plans each day for 30 days.
- A wall vision board – perhaps you’d like to have your dreams readily visible
- Life Visioning Book by Michael Beckwith, ‘A Transformative Process for Activating Your Unique Gifts and Highest Potential
- The Complete Vision Board Kit by John Assaraf
- Meditation is a powerful tool for clearing your mind and creating the space for dreams to grow. Here’s a YouTube playlist of Visioning Meditations. Try them, one each day and see which one/s you most enjoy, then incorporate that into daily visualization meditations
If you’re not sure of your goals and dreams, DON’T WORRY!! Your interim goal can be to enjoy the journey of discovery.
It is in the journey that you will find that which ignites your soul and illuminates your life.

Visioning Tools –
Meditation
I use meditation in conjunction with a vision board. You can do this with your eyes open and viewing your vision board, or with eyes closed, thinking about your goals or the goals placed on your vision board, or some of both, such as viewing your board, then visualizing with eyes closed.
We like to do visioning meditations with music that help induce a meditative state.
Achieving your goals is not a mystery. It is simply consistent planning, visioning and doing… planning, visioning and doing, daily, over time; one day at a time.

Vision Boards
Drawing or Painting Your Vision Board
If you’re a visual artist, you have the advantage of drawing or painting your vision board. This is a great way to help etch your goals into your psyche.
As you draw your dreams into art, you will want to incorporate thoughts and feelings surrounding them. Creating the visual goals map, will be like a visioning meditation where you’re at the first stage of bringing your dreams to life through drawing or painting them into existence. Blueprints ever precede construction.
For more specifics on illustrating your visions, check out the visioning prompts at the end of this article on drawing prompts.

Visionboard Slide Decks
- Keynote
- Powerpoint
If you don’t do visual art, you can construct your visuals using slide deck programs that you probably already have on your computers like PowerPoint on Windows systems and Keynote on Mac. I use Keynote to help me hone in and focus purposefully on my goals.
I like that I can create a slide for every area of my life and easily add or change the visuals as well. It’s also a bonus to be able to add sound files. A slide deck vision board is easy to grow with you.
Software Apps – Visioning Tools –
- Wigwam Mind Mapping app – very functional organized and the free version is capable of all that you need to create your own well-labeled mind map. My husband uses this one.
- GoalMapping program with some free online templates. This has extra design features that will please the artist in you.
- Mind Movies – a powerful app for creating dynamic audio visual movies of your life goals and dreams. Mind Movies takes you beyond visioning to the next level of manifestation.
Visioning Through Movement
One of my favorite visioning tools is to movement with music. Music is a powerful tool for literally transforming brain waves and elevating you at the cellular level. Create a playlist of music that truly stirs your soul, preferably instrumental without vocals to distract you from your specific vision scenes, unless the vocals are relevant to that.
I actually do visioning to music while biking the hills in our neighborhood. Other favorite dynamic movement visioning sessions is through walking meditations and dancing.
Visioning Books
Becoming Supernatural by Dr. Joe Dispenza’s
Dr. Joe Dispenza’s work is profoundly and positively changing the lives of millions. We’ve shared more of his work in this article of quotes as well as this one on the belief and quantum physics.
Joe’s book, Becoming Supernatural is all about creating the life you want to live by the power of transforming your thoughts and patterns. Transform your thoughts and you transform your life.
We highly recommend this book if you’re intent on personal transformation. In chapter 8 of Becoming Supernatural, Dr. Joe elaborates on the use of Mind Movies, the powerful tool in the list above.
A Goals Journal
Visioning coupled with setting, working and tracking your goals is the very best way to achieve them. We recommend the iCreateDaily 90 Day Goals Journals, because of the structure, consistency, inclusion of uplifting quotes, gratitude and daily visioning exercise. Or you can just use a notepad or digital document.
You can download a free 30 day digital journal here.
Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
Think and Grow Rich is a “founding father” of the manifestation movement. This book is a compilation of the best thoughts and ideas of some of the most successful people in the world. They all discovered and employed the power of visualization and thought to build the lives of their dreams.
Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul, the blueprints of your ultimate achievements.
~Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich, 1883-1970

As a Man Thinketh by James Allen
A predecessor to Napoleon Hill’s book, James Allen was definitely way ahead of his time. His classic book, As a Man Thinketh was published in 1913, and is written in an older, more formal style, but packed with gems and golden nuggets to help you immerse in the concepts.
We’re on the journey of our lives, friends. Let’s not leave our destination to chance.
