I’m recently re-read The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho. I first read the book many years ago and loved it. Now I’m listening to the audiobook read by Jeremy Irons, a favorite British actor with the perfect voice for this book. The alchemist is an epic story of a journey of life alchemy.
Life alchemy is the journey of personal transformation of what was to what can be.
It is in the journey that the way becomes more clear.
Your Dreams
Life alchemy is the transformation of your blood, sweat, and tears… of your hustle and grind… of the soul-searing forging of your creativity into reality. It is becoming your dreams and goals through daily transformation through application.
Life alchemy is transformation through creation. Day in and day out.
Your dreams can only happen through your work and your efforts. And they will happen by coming gradually into being if you do the work consistently, over time.
For your dreams to come true you have to bring them to life through positive, conscious daily actions in that direction. That is life alchemy. Your dreams won’t happen without you.
“Dreams are a common substance. Having the perseverance to transform them into something more is rare.”

What is Alchemy?
Alchemy is any magical power or scientific process of transmuting a common substance into a substance of greater value.
Alchemy is the transformation that occurs when something is added to something and becomes more than it was before.
YOUR LIFE ALCHEMY
Your life is the alchemy of your dreams…
and your efforts.
Mind to matter… ether to earth.Dreams without effort, evaporate.
Effort without dreams is just work.Imbue your effort with dreams…
and your dreams with effort,
and your life will be transformed.~LeAura Alderson, writer, editor, creator iCreateDaily.com®
The Alchemy of Home
Every house starts out as a collection of wood, nails, cement and sand. It is the construction day after day that turns these disparate pieces into a house. It is the family moving in that turns it into a home.
That… converting inanimate objects into the cozy sanctuary of home is an example of an alchemical transformation. The catalyst…? Love. Love is the alchemical substance that transforms all life into something more.
“When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.”
~Paulo Coelho, Brazilian novelist in The Alchemist, b.11/23/1951
A dream without a plan is just a wish.
~Tony Robbins, entrepreneur, life coach
Alchemical Metamorphosis
Standing on the land of an empty lot, it can be difficult to picture the completed building. Yet, day by day, piece by piece, sweat by effort, the house gets built.
That house becomes the home with a yard, a kitchen with someone cooking dinner… a car in the driveway… a mailbox by the road… a basketball hoop above the garage and a kid and parent hustling each other for the ball, with that steady bounce… bounce… bounce.
That empty lot was transformed by the vision of a contractor, the plan of an architect, and the daily work to bring it to completion. It was brought to life by the love of a family and it was transformed through the alchemy that occurs when intention is followed by action.
Life alchemy is to love your dreams to life, with every fiber of your being.

Dreams Give Form to Purpose
When you are not yet at the horizon of your dreams, it can seem so distant, so vague… pretentious even. Yet for every “dream-come-true” story, there is a beginning, an empty lot.
Your dreams give form to your purpose, and each goal helps to construct that dream into reality. Each action toward your goal is another nail anchoring that dream to matter.
Anchor your dreams to matter… because they matter.
The creator is the alchemist. Through the process of creating, the creator is transformed.

Constructing the Life of Your Dreams
Construction is a messy process. Same thing with startups. Growth rarely happens in a perfectly even order. As with construction, there are periods of instability, stability, plateaus and then more instability… and mess!
In fact, one of our favorite books is titled, The Messy Middle, by Scott Belsky, creator, and founder of Behance, a platform for creators and those interested in hiring them..
“Creating something from nothing is an unpredictable journey. The first mile births a new idea into existence, and the final mile is all about letting go. We love talking about starts and finishes, even though the middle stretch is the most important and often the most ignored and misunderstood.“
~Scott Belsky, author, The Messy Middle

Embrace Imperfection
So expect that it won’t be perfect. Accept that there may be problems. Accept that you will have to struggle and that all may not go according to plan. ?
Never fear what may go wrong. Instead, accept that challenges are part of the process… and that you’re up for it! After all, you are constructing the life of your dreams. Your dreams. #WorthIt!
You’ve got the plan… you’ve got the tools, now strap on your toolbelt and go!
Success is an alchemy of vision, hard work and perseverance.

The Alchemy of Success
In the first grade we can’t yet imagine going to middle school, let alone college. Yet day by day, year by year, we’re in the journey until it becomes real.
Same with us. At any beginning, it can be hard to see and to believe the arrival at the end we seek. And yet it happens and we will arrive if we stay in the journey over time.
Daily doing through consistency and persistence is the tincture that transforms your journey into your destination.
The alchemy of the artist is through vision, planning and creating daily to bring that vision to life.
You must expect great things of yourself before you can do them.
~Michael Jordan, American former professional basketball player
The Alchemy of Relationships
Relationships are another place in which alchemy occurs. Whether it’s a good marriage, a friendship, a business association or partnership, alchemy is at work in creating something more from the contributions of each.
When you seek out the company and influence of those who inspire, motivate, encourage and guide you, the alchemy of that relationship will be elevated. Each one is elevated and in that elevation comes a mutually higher vibratory rate.
When our atoms vibrate to increasingly higher levels, we attract increasingly higher levels of creativity and success. That’s why who you associate with and how you spend your time is so important. In fact, it’s vital to your realizing the life of your dreams.

Ask yourself: who and what inspires me and how can I become more of that?
Your dreams realized is simply the alchemy of vision and effort infused with patience and perseverance.
