Choice and Choosing Quotes by Nightbirde – Jane Marczewski
“When you’re faced with so many blows in the gut in a row like I have over the past several years, you find out what you’re made of, in a sense. And you’re given an opportunity to choose what you become.”

“When you go through something that’s so devastating… makes no sense… there’s no answers, you kind of have a choice. Like, ‘Am I going to become bitter, or am I not?’ You do have a choice, you know? You do get to decide what becomes of you in a sense.”

Dreams – Nightbirde, Jane Marczewski Quotes on Dreams
“Really, the pain is too much to bear sometimes… it makes no sense at all.

If we can hold onto a dream for the future, sometimes that’s all we need to get through.”
~Jane Marczewski, aka Nightbirde, singer-songwriter, AGT winner, 12/31/1990-2/19/2022
“I believe in dreams, for all our lives that originated in the imagination of God… and just think about… Don’t you want to see what happens if you don’t give up? Don’t you want to see what happens? That’s what I keep saying to myself and what I say to everyone… Don’t you want to see what happens if you don’t give up?”

God – Nightbirde – Jane Marczewski Quotes on God
“My life with God has been a complicated one and I can’t really say the complications have been entirely my fault. I think a fair assessment would be that we’ve each allowed the other to experience at least some degree of disappointment in our friendship. I’ve misunderstood him. I’m pretty sure he’s always understood me but he hasn’t been necessarily vocal about it. It’s not easy being friends with people and friendship with God is no different.”
“Life is complicated and friendship with God does not make life less complicated. But as I get older I am realizing that I would not have it any other way. Internally I sometimes wish that life would be perfect rather than just occasionally good. But I think it’s a mistake to presume that a perfect world would be better than a free world.”
“Love needs a place to live and grow and prove itself and that can only happen where tragedy is possible.”
“Still, sometimes life is too much to bear. Occasionally an extreme circumstance interjects itself into your life and your “live, laugh, love” sign proves to be even more absurd than it normally does.”
“I have a sign. It hangs in my heart and goes like this: “Have Mercy On God.”
“Forgive me if this offends you but I have a better friendship with God because I remain soft hearted and tender toward him in a life where sometimes nothing makes sense.”
~Jane Marczewski – Nightbirde, singer-songwriter, AGT winner, 12/31/1990-2/19/2022

Pain Quotes by Nightbirde – Jane Marczewski
“There’s so much beauty and poetry to be seen in the world if you are willing to sign off on the pain that it takes to stay awake in the middle of something that hurts so bad. That’s all this is… anybody can do it.”
~Jane Marczewski – Nightbirde, singer-songwriter, AGT winner, 12/31/1990-2/19/2022
Why Me?
Chris Cuomo asked how Nightbirde handled the “‘Why me?” question. Jane Marczewski answered in her characteristic sage eloquence:
“I try not to occupy myself with questions that are too big for myself to answer. It’s a waste of time.”
“Just because it’s a mystery, doesn’t mean it’s the absence of meaning.”
“Sometimes the mystery means there’s more meaning than we can even understand, and so I accept that, and I let go of the questions because it’s too heavy.”
“I’m pretty beat up but I still got dreams.”

Death of Nightbirde, Jane Marczewski
We just learned that Nightbirde died on 2/19/22 at the young age of 31. She’s our hero… she’s a super human being and role model of how to handle tragedy with grace, while being okay with grief and sadness.
Jane Marczewski was true to her message of joy and peace with what is until the end and left the world a message of hope in the indomitable human spirit. And Jane left us knowing that “It’s okay, it’s okay, it’s okay”, and I for one, shall ever hear her angelic voice singing those words whenever I need them.
Nightbirde’s Last Words to the World
Here are Jane “Nightbirde” Marczewski’s last words to the world in a 1:58 minute video posted on Jane’s Instagram account.
Last Nightbirde Quotes
Even in these last words to the world, Jane Marczewski, AKA, Nightbirde, shares optimism, realism and encouragement to the world.
“Just because you’re sad or grieving, doesn’t mean that you’re not grateful, and it doesn’t mean you’re not hopeful.”
~Jane Marczewski – Nightbirde, singer-songwriter, AGT winner, 12/31/1990-2/19/2022
“Sadness and grief, mourning and lamenting, and crying and screaming and being angry… these are ways that we honor what was lost.”
~Jane Marczewski – Nightbirde, singer-songwriter, AGT winner, 12/31/1990-2/19/2022
“I think grieving and feeling through all the emotions that you feel… the sadness and the grief and the injustice and the anger, and the loss and the bargaining… I think it’s a holy work.”
~Jane Marczewski – Nightbirde, singer-songwriter, AGT winner, 12/31/1990-2/19/2022
“It’s scary to go down those dark roads, but you know what…? Like those feelings don’t leave you. You have to feel it. You can’t fake the rest of your life, like nothing bad happened and just whistle a happy tune all day. That’s not what it is to be human.”
~Jane Marczewski – Nightbirde, singer-songwriter, AGT winner, 12/31/1990-2/19/2022
“It’s all real… the joy and the pain… it’s all real, and you don’t have to pick one or the other: ‘life is beautiful’ or ‘life is garbage’. It’s kind of both sometimes.”
~Jane Marczewski – Nightbirde, singer-songwriter, AGT winner, 12/31/1990-2/19/2022
I heard a quote that said that “Sadness is a way of saying that ‘this mattered'”.
~Jane Marczewski – Nightbirde, singer-songwriter, AGT winner, 12/31/1990-2/19/2022
Jane may have lost the battle but she won the victories of life through her positive messages of love, resilience, faith, and hope.
Thank you, Jane. Thanks to you, we shall ever know that “it’s okay”.
